  • The Toronto Huskies were a team in the Basketball Association of America (BAA), not the ABA (the American Basketball Association, another basketball organization that existed from 1967 to 1976 before merging with the NBA). The NBA was founded in 1949 after the merger of the BAA and the NBL (National Basketball League). The Raptors also played a few games here from their inaugural season in 1995-96 until Air Canada Centre opened. I remember going here to watch them beat the Philadelphia 76ers 117-105 on March 18, 1997 (Allen Iverson's rookie year) when I was 8 years old. MLG also played home for select Buffalo Braves (now the Los Angeles Clippers) NBA games back in the 70s.
