Former junction on the Central of GA RR mainline just north of Griffin. The now abandoned track curving off to the left (west) was the CG mainline to Chattanooga, TN via Senoia, Newnan, Cedartown, Rome, and Lafayette. The track from here to at least Senoia has been severed in several places. The line leading northwards is the Atlanta-Macon main that was completed just before the Civil War as the Macon & Western RR. That portion is still an active Norfolk-Southern line often mentioned as a candidate for commuter rail service.
