The objective of the Vologda City History Museum is the documentation and presentation of historical, natural and cultural development of Vologda's community and Vologda's region.
In the 17th century on the territory of Bishop's Yard was constructed a three story building, later called Gavriilovsky.
In the first half of the 18th century there were cells (kelly) for Bishops and monks. Now it's The City History Museum.
