Abuyog is a 1st class municipality in the province of Leyte, Philippines. It is the largest coastal town on the eastern coast of the island of Leyte facing Leyte Gulf out into the Pacific Ocean. It is bordered on one end by a large river and inland by long mountain ranges covered with dense forests. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 53,837 people in 10,620 households.
