Nevada State Prison (NSP) is located in Carson City, Nevada. The prison opened in 1862 and is operated by the Nevada Department of Corrections.

The prison began using the Warm Springs Hotel, which the state had purchased. The first warden was Abraham Curry, who had sold the hotel to the state.

In 1867, a fire destroyed the first building. The current building was constructed after the 1867 fire using rock from the site.

NSP manufactured all Nevada license plates. It closed in 2012.
