In Indian Independence perspective, Chakradharpur had been the place for the freedom fighters like Raja Chakradhar, Jagabandhu Singh, Pundit Godabarish Mishra, Rahim Bux and Fakeer Chand supporting Gandhi ji for his non-Cooperation movement and Khilafat Movement by Maulana Mazharul Haque( Gandhi ji’s class fellow) against British in 1920.(Please take a look )
This is one of the Railway-Subdivision generating a vast profit in goods freight sectors. It is also known as CKP being the short-time home for former Indian President V V GIRI and having achieved the pride of providing hospitality and shelters to Gandhi Ji and first President of India Dr Rajendra Prasad. It is the divisional headquarters of South Eastern Railway with a huge historical touch of tribal area of Chotanagpur. It is also one of the safest city from earth-quake .It has a cosmopolitan culture and the people generally speak Hindi,Bengali,English(Indo-Angolian)Gujrati,Marwadi,Oriya,Punjabi,Urdu and Telgu etc.
The name of Chakradharpur Station’s sign-board used to be written in three lanuages, Hindi,English and Urdu .Unfortunately, Urdu one, was displaced with Oriya.CKP is also used to be the exemplary peaceful city with a mix culture of all four major religions ; Chirstian,Hindu,Muslim and Sikh. It is nearer to three major industrial cities like Jamshedpur, Ranchi and Rourkela; and touching closely the boundaries of two neibhouring states like Orissa and West Bengal.
This city is my(Sajid Anjum)birthplace as well as one of my inspiring and exciting place to get strength. It is enriched with huge amount of natural resources like rivers, mountain valleys, jungle etc, enchanting greenery and providing peace of mind.
CKP has been maintaining the uniqueness in providing educations in Hindi, Bengali, English, Oriya, Telgu and Urdu for long time. I believe, it was the role of Railway administration to maintain the dignity of secularism in terms of education. That is the basic reason that the students educated from here are part and parcel of major professional institution worldwide.
Chakradharpur is the name after the Raja (king)Chakradhar where I have still great connection with my birthplace .I love to spend my times with my relatives and friends living there.
Chakradharpur (CKP) Place of change and political mystery but all the peoples are lovely and nice. Historical place where you can see our past culture as well as present livelihood. Place surrounded with mountains and the joining centre of two rivers Sanjay and Vijay. CKP used to be the place of hopes and opportunity.This place serves the mineral rich areas and forest. It’s a green and cool Place. Lovely atmosphere and one of the best Place to live in Jharkhand.
