Only discovered in 1994 and formerly known as Chupacigarro Grande East,Caral is currently the oldest known civilization in the Americas, dated at 2600 BC. It was once a bustling community that thrived off farming and trade.
Caral consists of a massive plaza, several residential areas and 6 pyramids, the largest of which being the Pyramid of Mayor.
