ruins, archaeological site
The remains of this entire ancient mountaintop city were "discovered" in December, 2008. The lost culture that built this city in Peru are called the Wari (Huari in spanish), and they flourished in the region of Lima from 500 to 900 A.D. This city lies far to the north of their known sphere of influence. A series of defensive walls surround the city. There is evidence they practiced human sacrifice by throwing people off the cliffs.
