Ancient city of Tomebamba, capital of the "Cañari" empire. Santa Ana de los Cuatro Ríos de Cuenca is the third largest city of Ecuador, after Guayaquil and Quito. It is an important culture centre for the country and the most important city of austral Ecuador.
