Powder Mountain Icefield is home to various summits - Mount Cayley, Brandywine Mountain, Powder Mountain, Mount Fee among them. Celebrated as a heli-skiing area for companies based out of Whistler and Squamish, it was the focus of a ski resort proposal in the late 1980s which was approved, then shuffled aside by the government of Premier Bill Vander Zalm. The site of the proposed resort village turns out to be in the same area as developments associated with the 2010 Olympics.
