This place used to be paradise in the 50/60/70s THE BUNGLOWS on the golf course elephants and leopards as your neighbours. Some planters who were lucky to enjoy this paradise were Harry Kar, Gopi, Jamwals,Speedy/Jimmy Strang/John Soward/Ranga naidu,Dr Sengupta,Ashish Ghosh.Harki, Vicky Gopinath,Gurjeet Singh.David Gibb,Foresters
Mr Prem Grewal was Manager here from 1993-97.

  • It is still a paradise. As someone who recently visited the estate, I can attest to the fact that the present management has taken excellent care of the estate. The golf course is maintained very well and the bungalows have been renovated with utmost care, keeping the colonial charm yet adding modern amenities. The factory from what I understand is now India's largest Orthodox-only tea production unit churning out more than 2 million kgs of tea annually!
