Site of over 200 Russian underground nuclear weapons tests conducted after 1963. Subject to a major secret cleanup operation lasting from 1996 to 2012 to clean up Plutonium residue and pure weapons grade metal left over from successful explosions and dud devices.

  • да помню точку г. в\ч 02588 я служил там 1988-1990 осень. штольня 169\2 жили в палатках до и после взрыва . кто был там отзовитесь пацаны. буду рад. склад электриков . всо.

  • The first Soviet underground nuclear test here at Delegen Mountain was on 11th October 1961 in a tunnel and for the purpose of fundamental science, rather than weapon development. The yield was 1.4 kt. The western codename assigned to it was Joe-100.
