This building originally housed Minneapolis Vocational High School. It was built by the Works Progress Administration between 1931 and 1939 in an Art Deco style. There was a courtyard in the middle until 1957, when an auditorium was built. When the building was renovated and converted to offices in the mid-1980s, the auditorium was demolished and a parking ramp constructed in its place. The building houses Hennepin County government services, such as the WIC program.
