Located directly next to KFUPM and is occupying parts of KFUPM owned land as well, the American Consulate of Dhahran has been one main source of trouble for KFUPM officials. For security purposes a police checkpoint is located next to the consulate and is causing traffic jams for students and visitors of the best educational institute in Saudi Arabia.
