A private secondary school founded to educate Navajo students and the only school sanctioned by the Navajo Nation to educate its youth. Farmington sits a few miles away from the largest Indian reservation in the U.S.A. - Navajo Reservation. An area of rich history of Indian nations and proud cultural heritage and contributions to the greater Southwestern United States. The Navajos, the Utes, the Apaches, the Aztec Pueblo, Mesa Verde Cliff Dwellings & the long lost tribes of Chaco Canyon. An area to explore and respect the Indian cultures of pre-United States terrority or statehood. New Mexico only became a state in 1912. A relative newer state compared to the early Colonies.
