Fed largely by underground rivers, Lake Kutubu is the second largest lake in Papua New Guinea. It has a surface area of 49.24 square kilometers, its maximum depth is 70 meters, and its surface is 800 meters above sea level. Lake Kutubu is home to a dozen species of fish found nowhere else.
