Lake Forest Park

USA / Washington / Lake Forest Park /

An almost entirely residential, suburban neighborhood, Lake Forest Park has been an incorporated city since 1903. As its name states very simply and clearly, Lake Forest Park located on the northwestern corner of Lake Washington, has much of its natural forest intact and is quite parklike in atmosphere. It was originally zoned by Ole Hansen to be a retreat for professionals in a natural setting. Hansen strived to cut down minimal amounts of trees and to keep much of the natural woods in the area intact, this has been sustained over the years and remains as such today. The southeastern neighborhood of sheridan beach is a very rich neighborhood do to its location on Lake Washington, adjacent to The Burk Gilman trail. The Rest of Lake Forest Park is primarily made up of regular middle class suburban homes. Lake Forest Park's business core is the Lake Forest Park Towne Centre (I wish they would drop those unneccesary pretentious E's, or simply the Lake Forest Park or LFP Mall as it is known to locals, is most notably home to the bakery Great Harvest Breads and The book store Third Place Books. The LFP Mall is a popular meeting ground and hangout for locals.

The current borders are incorrect. Places south of 145th Street are in the City of Seattle proper, not Lake Forest Park. Also, it's Kenmore, not Kenmoore.
