These are the central administrative offices for the Second Economic Committee of the Central Committee of the KWP. The "Second Economy" of the DPRK is the design, research and manufacturing of all machinery, arms, ordnance, missiles and communications in support of the military of the DPRK; in short the DPRK's military industrial complex. The Second Economic Committee was established throughout the 1960s at the instigation of DPRK President, General Kim il Sung. It currently consists of seven (7) general bureaus and one for research and development, the Second National Academy of Sciences, as well as an import/export state owned enterprises trading in materials.
