Villa Aldini

The villa was built by Antonio Aldini, minister of Napoleon during the years 1811-16, according to a plan by Giuseppe Nadi. The Olympus portrayed in the tympanum relief is by Giacomo de Maria (1815). Inside, there are neoclassical hallspainted by Felice Giani. The back of the villa incorporates the former sanctuary or rotunda Madonna del Monte, dating back to the second half of the twelfth century as well as the inner frescos. www.bolognawelcome.com
