This district of Braila City was at the begining a village populated by lipovans (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lipovan). Old persons are still using Lipovan language but, unfortunately, the youth favor Romanian language to communicate between them.

Before lipovans, this place was inhabited by dobrujan germans and the village was called Jakobsonstal.
