San Augustin Church (Paoay Church) (Paoay)

Paoay Church (also known as the San Augustin Church in Paoay) is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List and it is located in Paoay, Ilocos Norte.

Construction of the church was started by the Augustinian friars in 1694. It was completed in 1894 led by Fr. Antonio Estavillo and was re-dedicated in 1894.
A three-storey coral stone bell tower stands a few meters away from the church.

  • Have this a an urban legend but this story, which stands as long as this church was built, was a bit old. There are rumors that gold lies hidden in the secret tunnel under the church. Nobody knows if it's true but try your luck tro find one.

  • Yeah! I'm proud to have visited this place. Glad that this church is still standing. It would be nice if the roof is still in its original make.
