place with historical importance, interesting place
Originally built in 1922 and rebuilt in 1985, this 3 mile long wood stave pipeline brings water from TransCanada’s Searsburg Dam to the power generating station on the deerfield river. The pipe itself is constructed the same as an old wooden barrel with the added complexity of having to twist and turn along it's length. The pipe itself is constructed out of 3 by 6 tongue and groove timbers fastened with steel bands and has an inside diameter of 8 feet.
