Built in 1880-81, the Moore and Thompson Paper Mill complex is comprised of 18 interconnected buildings. The mill was originally powered by water turbines housed beneath several buildings connected via a series of underground tunnels. The mill operated as a paper mill up until the 1960s, as well as a short stint as a furniture manufacturer until 1981.
