Under this grass lie the remains of a community. A cemetery, containing the grave goods and mortal remains of the people, who lived and farmed in this part of Britain, 1500 years ago. But also buried here, are some questions we want to answer.
Will we be able to find the broaches and beads and swords, which will tell us where these families came from? How big will this site be? And why is an Anglo Saxon cemetery, covered in Roman pottery.
Time Team have been given a fantastic opportunity to investigate this intriguing site, and hopefully solve some of its mysteries. And as usual, we’ve got just three days to do it.

Can you help?
I'm still looking for the Trench 1 magazine, issues 25-27 , so I can cover it on the site. If you have spare copies, or you simply do not want yours no more, or could find it in yourself to loan me them for a couple of weeks, then please contact me here, or if you are a member here, just simply pm me. Obviously I would gladly pay for any reasonable costs for postage and the magazines themselves. Many thanks.
Big thanks to Macbeth for forwarding issues 21,22,23 & 24.
Big thanks also to Emma for forwarding scans of the covers of issues 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26 & 27.
Big thanks also to Ozzy for loaning me 7 other issues.
