This is Cathedral Hill in Downpatrick, one of the most sacred sites in Ireland. The place where according to legend, St. Patrick built a monastery and was later buried.

Are there any traces of those early monastic buildings on this hill? Are they lying buried somewhere here under 1500 years of some of Irelands’ most fascinating history?
