  Originally this "college" dorm building was called "Henry", but students over the years ignored “Henry” and named it "Hendrix" after the famous musician, and now as I look at the SUNY Stony Brook website map, it was changed to "Hendrix". Student will prevailed! The problem is that the dorm buildings were supposed to be named after famous citizens of New York, but Jimi Hendrix was born in Seattle, Washington, and Washington state was really his home, not New York.
