Bishop's Castle is a large stone castle, with decorative ironwork and stained glass, constructed entirely by one man, Jim Bishop. Started in 1969, the castle has grown each year by his efforts. It is an absolute must-see in this area.

The Castle and the gift shop are completely located in the thick woods along Highway 165. Located right off the road, there is no driveway leading up to the actual structure, but it is only a short walk.

  • Castle really is a must see but be aware Jim Bishop is very passionate about his politics. To say he is not politically correct is a massive understatement. I was up there today and he was spouting off about 9/11 and the use of racial slurs. I hope that doesn't scare you away because this is pretty magnificent but ya there is his very loud rants to contend with.
