Sandila is a town and Nagar Palika Parishad (Municipal Board) in Sandila Block Sandila Tehsil in Hardoi Distroct of Uttar Pradesh. This town is situated on SH-25 (Palia-Lucknow Road).
Sandila is a charming town in Hardoi District of Uttar Pradesh. It is located about 50 km south of Hardoi and is 55 km north-west of the state capital, Lucknow.
Sandila derives its name after Rishi Sandilya, who once colonized this place. Many old buildings, mosque and barakhamba add to the charm of the town. Hatyaharan Pilgrim is another spot worth visiting in Sandila.

Nearest airport is at Lucknow. Sandila Railway Station is situated on the Lucknow-Delhi line of Northern Railways.

I am a second generation descendant of Indian term indentured Immigrants who were taken to British Guiana (now Guyana) in 1895 and allotted to work in the sugar cane fields of Non Pariel sugar estate in Demerara. The estate was owned by UK based British Planters. My Father's father (my Aja), his father's father (my Per Aja) and his father's mother (my Per Ajie) were recruited from Palia, Bara Banki, UP. My Aja told me many cultural stories of his community in Bara Banki, especially of Sandila and other Tahsils in Nawabganj Bara Banki. My father's mother (my Ajie) was recruited in Gorain, Mirzamurad, UP, and taken to British Guiana in 1902. She too was indentured to Non Pariel sugar estate. They did not return to India. They died in Guyana. My father and my wife died in Canada. I live in Canada.
