  • My Mom worked at this cave when i was very young it was mismanaged and closed due to the cave needed upgraded wireing and safty features. The cave used to be owned by a Mr. Fraser and there is even a B rate movie that was filmed here and the special effects man's name was Lester Loraine. I know an awful lot about this cave and I even Help Dave Dewalt Splunk this cave. there was a musket under stone found and there is a small pond inside the cave with blind cave fish and lots of bats. It did alot of tours and had haunted tours in the holloween season. The cave was mis managed by a man named Mike Shaffron who helped run it into the ground and couldnt compete with crystal cave. There was even a room they called the wagon room by the pet rock near the entrance which is unexplored and was thought to house a covered wagon but the cave closed before any more spluking could be completed. It is a shame for this cave and i often wanted to buy this cave but did not have the funds to do so. I hope the owners relize what a treasure they have.
  • I used to go to this cave as a child! I was wondering when did the cave close? When did Perry Township take the land above(?) the cave under eminent domain? What authority declared the cave unsafe? Was the problems just maintenance related or was there any instability inside the cave that required it to be condemned?
  • I was to the 'property' recently. No sign of the old entrance, it is behind a tree that was planted after the caves closing. I understand that there was a tour of the cave last fall, to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the 'founding' of the cave? If they were able to enter the cave and tour it, how unsafe can it be?
  • The cave is actually owner by a friend of mine. They are cavers, and also own other caves. Even though the cave is close commercially, there are still trips into the cave. If you are interested in this and other local caves, feel free to join the Greater Allentown Grotto for one of our meetings. We welcome new members with a shared passion for the underground.
