This 100 years old building used to belong to the Dreher-Hagenmacher family, notable for having the biggest beer brewery at the time. It was confiscated by the state after World War II, along with the brewery itself.
Originally, as in most buildings in this area, this building housed large apartments, often stretching over as much as a whole floor each. These were rented out by rich civic families. In the communist era, these were divided up to be able to house more people.
Today, nicely renovated, this building boasts a nice surrounding with the Vígszínház theatre on the opposite side of the Boulevard.
