Thanks to politicians wanting a vote bank, our natural environment is getting destroyed due to illegal land reclamation not to mention poor people living in appalling conditions. If politicians really want to help these guys how about getting them some proper housing. During high tide at times most of these slums are submerged under water. No guessed as to how damaging this can be for the health of the occupants.

It is sad that the last peices of Mangroves is ruined by 1000s of Slum Dwellers here. Reliance Energy and MTNL officials shud be punished for giving ELectricity and Phone connections here.

  • And due to these slum dwellers , a lot of havoc is created and it creates an unsafe atmoesphere for the neighbouring school and also for the residents of kanderpada and I.C.colony nearby!!!!!

  • I don't think it's illegal anymore. and our politicians really don't care about mangroves and environment they just care about their vote bank. and it's not just slums, there are many illegal shops in this area and some very big godowns also.so imagine how much hafta few people must be getting out of these places. go in the night there and you will see lights in every house. they get 24hours water also from the pipelines which provides water to the buildings in I c colony extension area. now they have bus facility also. and for the toilet facility they use wide cement concrete link road. I wonder why our politicians always insult places like singapore and hongkong by saying that they will convert mumbai city into that.
