Mozhugongka County

Maizhokunggar County or Meldro Gungkar County is a county of Lhasa and east of the main center of Chengguan, Tibet Autonomous Region. Mozhugongka County is situated in the middle part of Tibet and on the west side of Mila Shan Mountain, which stands in the upper and middle reaches of Lhasa River. It is 5,512 square kilometers around and has a total population of 38,000. In Tibetan, it means “the white land that black-colored green dragon king resides”. Mozhugongka was set up in 1,857 and now under the administration of Lhasa.
