Holds over 185,000 works of art, the original portion was designed by Egerton Swartwout of the firm of Tracy & Swartwout in 1928. An addition was made in 1956 by Louis I. Kahn. A restoration and renovation was undertaken in 2006 by Polshek Partnership Architects.
