Where the Skins Game was first played. Built in 1983, in what was then way outside the suburban sprawl of Phoenix. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, he used turf judiciously, leaving the desert landscape mostly intact and creating the best-known example of what would become known as "target golf".

  • When Desert Highlands opened its gates in 1983, it became the model for all other exclusive, gated communities in the Southwest. The Jack Nicklaus designed golf course was home to the first PGA Skins Game in 1983.
