Fort of the TANWAR rulers of PATAN, migrated after fall of Prithviraj Chauhan in 11th century, yougner brothers of Anangpal Tomar II(Ruler of Delhi) settled in Patan about 1198-1215 A.D.

Patan was capital of Tanwarawati/ Torawati region. With the rise of Mughals and Amber, always a thorn in Jaipur/ Amber's eye, Torawati was an independent kingdom till Marathas attacked jaipur in 17th Century at that time Patan came to rescue Jaipur forces. The battle between Marathas and Rajput Forces (Amber Forces) was fought in the plains of Patan.
