Fanning Island (Tabuaeran)

Kiribati / Tabuaeran / Nabari /
In the republic of Kiribati. This island is used by Norwegian Cruise Line as a foreign port stop for its bahamas-flagged vessels for inter-island Hawaii Cruises. Takes anywhere from 1-3 days sail from the Big Island.

  • This isalnd and it's beautiful turquise lagoon is indescribably beautiful and natural. The lagoon is mostly less than 5 feet deep, warm, and invigorating. There is no electricity, running water, telephones, internet nor any other modern convinience. The people are very friendly and have great crafts for sale. All the "natural" scenes for Giligan's Island were filmed here. Well worth a visit.
