Don’t know if the house is still called Trebles Holford, but it certainly was during the 1970’s. My Mom & Dad were friends with the two sisters who lived there, Molly & Betty Coleridge-Smith. We use to spend a working week in August there. If any one who reads this knows about the house now, please leave a comment, I would be interested to read them.

  • Hi, Just read your message, Trebles Holford is still the name of the house. We live next door in the old barn (which we called Penbridge Court) where you may have played during your holidays. On the old beam on our landing someone has carved their initials, I would be interested to know who it may belong to. We started to convert the barn into our house in 1983 and during the last 19 years converted the stable and cow shed into holidays cottages. When we first moved to the area Betty and Molly we living at Trebles Holford and they had the chicken house which we purchased from Betty after Molly died. They had many King Charles spaniels that you may remember. The area hasn't changed a lot since we moved here we love the area and are now the longest residents in the hamlet.
  • Thanks for the info, I can remember the barn starting to be renovated during the last few times we visited, it was obviously you who brought it. Yes, the King Charles were a big part of life with Molly & Betty, and of course Suzi the Collie in latter years. We use to walk them all in the evening, past what is now your home and down towards the railway line. Very happy days indeed, I keep meaning to take a look at the place if I get down that neck of the woods again, and show my kids where I use to go.
