In the late 1940s / 1950s, I / we spent a number of holidays with my Aunty Lil & Uncle George - who worked on the farm - at Clayhill Cottages to the South of the farm towards the Spaxton Road.
Even though only 5 or 6 old to start with, we used to walk into Cannington, out to Four Forks, etc. The former was always a favourite as there was a fellow at Cannington who made home made icecream, and was then the case, cycled around the village with his wares (the 'Stop-Me and-Buy-One' era)
The neighbours at Clayhill Cottages were the Lee family - with Albert also working at the farm. The farmers were the Nation & Irish families.
Does anyone remember them? John (ja_gibson@tiscali.co.uk)
