This compound made national news in 1990 when an oil seepage made it's way into the Mantua neighborhood. Despite all the press, the MILLIONS of dollars paid by Texaco to clean up, and the MILLIONS MORE dollars donated by Texaco to the Mantua Elementary school, only one home was forced to evacuate due to oil contamination.
