The official name of the Cathedral is The Cathedral of the Kazan' Icon of the Our Lady.
Other common names are Kazanskaya, Kazansky
The cathedral was built in 1820-1830 in classic style.
Before 1918 in this Cathedral the miraculous icon of Our Lady of Kazan was stored. The Cathedral was closed for ceremonies at 1918 and till 1997 the Yaroslavl State Archive was housed here.
