  • THE VILLAGE IS A NICE PLACE.IT HAS A FAMOUS MANDIR OF BHAGWAN SHANKAR CALLED "KAPARDIKESHWAR".IN THE MARATHI MONTH OF 'SHRAWAN', EVERY MONDAY YATRA[FAIR] IS ORGANISED BY LOCAL RECIDENTS. THE VILLAGE IS SURROUNDED BY FARMS OF BANANAS AND SUGERCANES. PEDHA[SWEET] AND MISSAL[SPECIAL MAHARASHTRIAN SPICY DISH] OF OTUR IS VERY FAMOUS.THIS IS MY BIRTH PLACE.
  • This is a beautiful place located on Ane Malshej Road and on the banks of river Mandavi, approximately 100 kms each from Kalyan, Pune and Nashik.The temples like Kapardikeshwar ( Shiva Temple) and Chaitanya Maharaj Temple are worth seeing.The nearby places of visit are Ashtvinayak temples at Ozar and Lenyadri. Shivneri, the birth place of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is approximately 12 kms away from Otur. Otur is surrounded by moutains.Its upcoming education center having colleges of Engineering, Pharmacy, Management,Arts, Science and Commerce.Students from various parts of country are coming here for higher studies.

I think this is only river in India that coming from East & turned in half rounded shape along samadhi mandir of "Babaji chaitanya mauli" & "kapardikeshwar mahadev temple" & then goes to south direction. Other popular places to see are shivneri fort, chilhevadi damp, ozar & lenyadri ashtvinayak temple etc. Mainly otur is popular for "Samadhi of Chaitanya maharaj" that is Guru of "Tukaram Maharaj" peoples know "Dehu" & "alandi" but they not don't know "Otur" That is called "kashi" bcoz chaitanya mauli was coming from "kashi" to otur to found silent place for samadhi...!!!

  • This is very beautifull village.The environment is always very cool.It is a nice place to visit.Lenyadri,ozer,shivneri,these are the picnic spots near otur. Jakmatha,kolmala,tambe mala,phulemala,netvad,paretvadi,are some small places in otur. Jakmatha and kolmala are joint by a small bridge.
