Community of Parsippany-Troy Hills Twp. in NJ. It is a man made lake that is spring fed.

Lake Parsippany was developed by the NY Mirror Holding Co. as a summer recreational community in 1933. A lake "lot" could be secured by merely subscribing to the Daily Mirror Newspaper for 6 months, plus $98.50.

Bungalows sprung up, a clubhouse was established in a local barn and dirt roads were paved. The community grew as increasing numbers of city residents retreated from the summer heat.

Eventually summer cottages were converted for year round living and other properties were developed. It remains privately owned by the Lake Parsippany Property Owners Association.
