The stadium is the place of main city's celebrations and events, e.g. innouguration of Mayor, The Day of the City processions and parades. During summer time free tennis and soccer courts are available for Yaroslavl' population interested in sports. At winter tobogganing and ice-sliding are organized on staudium' hills. The stadium is located on natural ravine, the nickname of this place came from history and it is "The angle of Bear". According the legend, Prince Yaroslav The Wize killed the sacral bear, a totem animal of pagan tribes lived in Yaroslav' area, at this particular place.
