New Walk Centre - Leicester City Council (Leicester)

United Kingdom / England / Leicester / Welford Place

The Leicester City Council is a unitary authority responsible for local government in the city of Leicester.

The New Walk Centre is a typical 1970s building comprising of two large office blocks which dominate the city skyline. It is the administrative headquarters of Leicester City Council.
The complex was not built as council offices, but the speculative builder who constructed them found it difficult to find tenants, so the City Council, whose offices had been spread around the central area, took the premises over.
