HMAS Ovens is an Oberon Class Submarine which served in the Royal Australian Navy from her April 18th, 1969 to December 1st, 1995. During her service with the RAN, the Ovens became the first Australian Submarine to fire an live Mark 48 Torpedo during exercises off Jervis Bay, successfully sinking the decommissioned Bathurst Class Corvette HMAS Colac (J242/M05), on March 4th, 1987.

Following her decommissioning from active service, the Ovens was donated to the Western Australian Maritime Museum for preservation, and she now serves as the first Submarine Museum Ship in Australia and is open for guided tours.
