A stopover camp during the Britishraj on way to Tso Lhamo and Tibet beyond, an old bungalow built by the Britishers still exist here. The area used to be the summer grazing camp for the cattle belonging to the Lachungpas. Now teeming with hundreds of indian tourists - mostly bengalees, during April-May, the place has become virtually a garbage dump - juice and water bottles, cans, plastic covers. Bengalis are often seen urinating around roadsides. Famously known for their loud noise, they disturb the nesting Ibisbills - sad.

  • Most tourists from Bengal are cheap economy tourists. With cheap tour operators from Gangtok, they rushes to some listed places with minimum payments and maximum spots. Some strict instructions with warning of penalty may rise their civic sense, specially when they enter to Sikkim . Love to nature is born. Educated ( not learned ) parents passover their knowledge to next gen. Feromen marking is natural for Beasts.
  • It is very easy to write anything in this space. So many bengalis roam around the world every year..No other Indians roam like bengalis.Bengalis are often seen urinating around roadside, because not a single bathroom/lavatory is there.Sikkim govt. shoud take care of the Indian tourist or bangalis..Because tourists are the main source of Income of the Sikkim govt. Govt should provide road side bathrooms..Here I am sorry to say,we people see in Kolkata or any other city educated people from Bihar/UP urinating around roadside. Why don't we all blame them, when there are so many bathrooms are present in the roadside???
