The fort, strategically located inside Clearwater Pass, was built for the Spanish-American War. The grounds are now home to a mansion which was originally constructed by Al Capone, owned by former racing driver Nigel Mansell, and now subdivided into several walled-in town homes. It is best recognized from either the water or Druid Rd. by its white wall, green tile roof, and British/Spanish architecture.
