This site complemented the site in Ryton, this Stoke plant just off the Humber road, & close to the city centre.
This plant also accommodated Peugeot’s 2 subsidiaries Gefco & Faurecia.
The size of this site helps you appreciate the Peugeot’s presence in the city & the impact it had when Peugeot closed the production sites, as you can see from the image, the site has a sports pitch & not clearly visible a parts & training centre.
Construction has taken place, most of the factory is now demolished & homes built or in the process of being built.
Just south of this image Peugeot has constructed a new state of the art head office; this will be a multiple building site one building for admin & training with research & development, the second building to showcase there products the 2 buildings will connected by tunnel underneath the Humber Road linking the two sites,.
(The tunnel was previously used to transport the cars from the plant to the nearby railway line)
Such of the magnitude of the construction part of the Humber road has been newly constructed if travelling from the city centre the road bends sharply to the left & you then have a roundabout to guide through.
