Thanks to a generous gift from local families Jeff and Michelle and Dennis and Vicki Anderson, the main softball diamond at Cal State Fullerton was renamed Anderson Field during the 2006 season and stands as one of the top softball venues in the country. Having undergone a full remodel prior to the 2001 season, Anderson Field features elevated grandstand seating with permanent box seating behind home plate with chairback bleachers down both baselines. A permanent, expanded, two-tiered press box sits behind home plate with complete Internet accessibility for media members. A beautifully landscaped grassy knoll runs from the left field foul pole to right centerfield, making the area perfect for fans to enjoy the beautiful Southern California weather during day games. The main field also features two complete bullpens with room for two pitchers to warm up simultaneously and sunken dugouts for both teams. The site served as host to the 2003 NCAA Softball Regionals in addition to the annual Judi Garman Classic - widely regarded as the premier regular-season tournament in the nation.
