  • One of the most beautiful places I have been in my life. I was in Mysore to give keynote address to a conference. One of my colleague mentioned about Ashram. Since I like Bonsai, I decided to go. It was almost noon when I and some of my scientists entered Ashram. As soon as we stepped out of our car, I could feel a wonderful sense of postivity and happiness. The Ashrama is clean, quiet, beautiful and well designed. THe bonsai garden is the largest I have seen in India. Plants are artistically maintained. The lay out of the garden too is well planned and appealing. I was reluctant to enter the prayer hall and temple. One of my friend who went inside, came out and urged me to come inside to see the place. I went inside and was awe struck at the quiet, cool and beautiful prayer hall. Nothing gaudy like Prem Mandir in Brindavan, Mathura. Aesthetic, understated and superbly designed. A sense of calm came over me. This is what a prayer hall should do. A boy was reciting some Mantras. It was music to the ears. WHen Inquired, we were informed that the Ashrama was started by a Swamiji who is a local. I was deeply impressed by this Swami's ability to maintain such beautiful ashram. My quest for Bonsai brought me other happiness too. I am very happy i went.
